With Rapiécer l'avenir, a contemporary abstract work by Diane Fournier, we are drawn into a world where memory and hope meet. Created on a wooden panel using collage and acrylic paint, this work creates a dialogue between textures and colors to express what cannot always be said with words.
In the center, a green bubble seems to float next to a black fence, like a buried memory, protected but ever present. A red door catches the eye: is it a hiding place, a refuge, or a path to take toward what remains to be rebuilt?
The blue hues bring a touch of softness, a breath of fresh air. Supported by soft pinkish oranges, the scene offers a reassuring warmth, like a balm for the wounds of the past.Patching Up the Future is the art of composing with fragments—those of memory, emotion, and experience—to imagine a kinder tomorrow. This work speaks of resilience, of passage, of an inner home to be found or invented.
Each element placed by the artist becomes an invitation to reflection and introspection. Diane Fournier reminds us, with poetry, that it is sometimes in what is broken that the strength to create something new is born.
